Getting on the Same Page, Staying Connected, and Playing Safely

If you’ve been to our events, you’ve probably seen or heard the word “consent”—but what does it actually mean, and how do we practice it in a community as diverse and dynamic as ours?

Whether you're into shibari, sensual connection, fire play, cuddles, kink, or just exploring new edges, this workshop is a space to explore how we create mutual, respectful, and informed agreements—both in and out of play.

In this 2–2.5 hour session, we’ll cover:

--The evolution of consent: How the concept has grown and shifted in different scenes and communities over time

--Core terminology and models: From “enthusiastic” to “informed,” --we’ll clarify language and approaches

--Consent & negotiation games: Practice skills in low-stakes, playful ways

--How to negotiate clearly and safely: Tools to express needs, limits, and desires

--Consent as an ongoing process: Exploring revocable, situational, and context-aware consent

--Community care: Creating a culture of trust, accountability, and support

This workshop is open to all experience levels, identities, and orientations. We welcome you! Come with an open mind and a willingness to engage in respectful conversation.

21+ Event

Join our beginner Shibari workshop where we learn basic knots and frictions, then build a harness. Black Rabbit will be serving hand-craft cocktails/mocktails, mead, and savory hand-held pies throughout the event. This night is perfect for making new friends while diving into the Shibari practice.
